Our cloud and DevOps services are for companies whose application runs on a single ageing server, whose releases are a nerve-racking manual routine, or whose AWS or Azure bill grows faster than their customer base. We design the cloud architecture, migrate your systems, introduce CI/CD pipelines and monitoring, and then run the infrastructure with you for the long term.

We are not a hosting company or a staffing agency. Megu is a senior-only software company based in Košice, Slovakia, with 15+ years in production and 100+ production projects. The engineers who write backends and mobile apps also build the infrastructure those apps run on. When an application slows down under load, we look for the cause in both the code and the infrastructure instead of simply adding more servers.

We choose boring, proven tools: Terraform or Pulumi, Docker, Kubernetes only where it pays off, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Grafana and Prometheus. The whole infrastructure is described as code in your repository and runs in a cloud account that belongs to you. If you ever decide to continue without us, you take over a working environment with documentation, not a black box.

Cloud migration services with low-downtime cutover

Moving from on-premise servers, VPS or legacy hosting. First an assessment of what runs where and what depends on what, then a migration order, the target environment as code and a rehearsal on a copy of the data. Cutover happens in an agreed window with a rollback plan, followed by performance and cost tuning.

Kubernetes consulting, including when you don't need it

We containerise applications with Docker and, where it makes sense, run them on managed Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS) with autoscaling, health checks and separate environments. To be honest: for one or two applications with predictable load you often don't need Kubernetes, and a simpler setup costs less. We will tell you upfront.

We describe the whole environment in Terraform or Pulumi: networks, servers, databases, DNS and access. Changes go through code review and every environment is reproducible. CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions run tests, builds and deployments, with GitOps via ArgoCD on Kubernetes. No hand-configured server that only one person understands.

Cloud cost optimisation with a clear method

We make cloud spend visible and predictable: every resource has an owner and a budget, and alerts arrive before the invoice does. We look for savings in resource sizing, scaling and idle capacity, but only where they do not put performance or availability at risk. Logistics and transport

Dispatch that cannot go down at peak time

Dispatch, shipment tracking and the customer portal have to work at six in the morning when routes are being planned. We know the domain from our own transport management platform. We design a redundant architecture, backups with restore tests, monitoring that raises an alert before a dispatcher notices, and releases deployed without taking the system offline.

Peak season without the shop falling over

Before Black Friday or a major campaign we find the bottleneck: the database, images, external payment gateways or the application itself. We set up autoscaling, caching and load tests so the shop survives the peak. After the season we scale capacity back down, so you are not paying all year for servers that sit idle.

An MVP often runs on whatever was at hand. As paying customers arrive, we add separate staging and production environments, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and monitoring. Client and financial data needs to stay in the EU, and every access to it should be traceable. We build the environment in an EU region with encryption, least-privilege access, audit logs and regular backups.     Building the environment

    We write the infrastructure as code in your repository and set up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting and backups. Staging comes first, then production, and everything goes through code review.

    Migration and go-live

    We move the data and switch traffic in an agreed window, usually outside peak hours. Before cutover, restores from backup are tested and a rollback plan is ready; afterwards we watch metrics and errors closely.

Questions about cloud, DevOps and Kubernetes

What does a DevOps consultant do?

A DevOps consultant improves the way software gets from a developer's laptop into production: infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, backups and access control. In practice that means automating deployments, describing infrastructure as code, setting up alerts that matter and removing the manual steps where mistakes happen. A good consultant also knows when not to add complexity. At Megu this role is filled by senior engineers who understand the applications as well as the infrastructure.

How much do DevOps consulting services cost?

The cost depends on scope, so we do not publish a price list; instead you get a transparent written estimate after a free first call. A one-off project, such as a migration or setting up Terraform and CI/CD, is estimated by milestones. For ongoing operations, or a senior DevOps engineer embedded in your team, we agree a long-term engagement. Either way, weekly demos and an open backlog show you exactly what you are paying for.

How long does a cloud migration take?

It depends on scope: a simpler application with one database typically moves within a few weeks, while a larger estate with many systems is planned in stages over several months. The timeline is driven by the number of systems and dependencies, the volume of data and how much downtime is acceptable. After the assessment you get a concrete schedule, including the cutover window and a rollback plan.

How do you reduce AWS and cloud costs?

You reduce AWS and cloud costs mainly by removing waste and sizing resources to real load. We start with cost visibility: tagging, budgets and alerts. Then come rightsizing oversized instances and databases, autoscaling, switching off non-production environments outside working hours, deleting unused volumes and snapshots, and reserved capacity for steady load. Each recommendation comes with an estimated saving and its risk, not a vague promise of 'up to 50%'.

Do we really need Kubernetes?

Often you don't, and we will tell you before the project starts. Kubernetes makes sense when you run several services that are deployed and scaled independently, when load varies a lot, or when several teams need a shared platform. For a single application with a database and predictable traffic, a managed container service or a well-run virtual server is usually cheaper and simpler to operate. When we do use Kubernetes, it is a managed cluster (EKS, GKE or AKS) defined in code.

Terraform or Pulumi: which should we use?

For most teams Terraform is the safer default, while Pulumi suits teams who want to define infrastructure in a general-purpose language such as TypeScript, Python or Go. Terraform has a very large ecosystem of providers and modules and is widely known among operations engineers, which makes handover easier. Pulumi lets developers use the loops, functions and tests they already know. We work with both and choose based on who will maintain the code; either way it lives in your repository.

AWS vs Azure vs GCP: which cloud should we choose?

Choose the cloud that fits what your organisation already uses and what your team can run, because all three offer comparable core services and EU regions. Azure is often the natural choice for companies built on Microsoft 365 and .NET, AWS has the broadest range of services, and Google Cloud is strong in data work and managed Kubernetes (GKE). We compare them against your requirements and expected costs, and because we write infrastructure as code, you avoid being locked into hand-built resources.

Where is our data hosted, and can it stay in the EU?

Yes, your data can stay in the EU: we deploy into EU regions of AWS, GCP or Azure, for example Frankfurt, in a cloud account that belongs to you. Megu is an EU company working under EU jurisdiction, and we design environments with GDPR in mind: encryption, access control, audit logs, backups kept within the EU and documentation of where data lives. The legal assessment itself stays with your data protection officer or lawyer.
